Childhood Inspiration
I've always been fascinated by plants and wildflowers.
As an imaginative and sensitive child, I often found the noise and bustle of family life overwhelming. Longing for peace and quiet, I would disappear for hours, wandering through woods, along riverbanks and across meadows, observing the plants around me and later drawing them at home.
Looking back, I realise that the natural world has always been my place of calm—a source of creative inspiration, quiet reflection and connection.
My Journey
My journey into plant medicine began after a particularly stressful period in my life. I decided to give myself the gift of a six-month sabbatical and, quite by chance, discovered the perfect course within weeks.
In 2013, I began studying Plant Medicine at Dilston Physic Garden, learning from some of the country's most respected medical herbalists.
From my very first session, I was captivated. I discovered not only the remarkable constituents and traditional uses of medicinal plants, but also something far more profound—that every culture on Earth has developed its own herbal traditions, using the plants growing around them to support health and wellbeing.
What struck me most was how accessible this knowledge really is. You don't need a laboratory or expensive equipment. A sunny kitchen window ledge, a garden, a window box—or simply a walk in the countryside—can become the starting point for discovering nature's medicine cabinet.
Which Naturally Led to Mother Nature's Pharmacy?
Mother Nature's Pharmacy brings together two lifelong passions: my fascination with the natural world and my love of helping people learn.
As an educator, I've always believed that the best learning happens through curiosity, conversation and practical experience. My workshops are designed to be welcoming, hands-on and inspiring—giving people the confidence to explore herbs safely and discover how plants can become part of everyday wellbeing.
Mother Nature's Pharmacy is about rediscovering nature's medicine—combining traditional herbal wisdom with contemporary evidence to help people explore herbs safely, thoughtfully and with confidence.
Let's Get Curious Together
I do hope that you will join me on this journey of discovery and you'll leave not only with new knowledge, but with a renewed appreciation of the natural world and the confidence to continue your own journey of discovery.
